Don is not a licensed therapist, but is an experienced pastor, teacher, author and counselor.
Don has a passion for helping couples make their marriages better and stronger than ever. And for the last 35 years he has been doing just that. Since the late 1980’s he worked with men and couples as a peer counselor. He served for many years as Shepherd (Pastor) for Marriage & Relationships at Fullerton Free Church, developing marriage coaches and providing a number of healthy relationship classes to the church and community as a whole.
He is CFO for Relationship Research Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit that provides and sponsors marriage education classes. In recent years, Don has launched a number of different programs (including The Third Option – for couples in crisis) which have helped thousands of marriages. He has personally taught couples and trained leaders in these various programs throughout the USA, and on five different continents – in countries including Ukraine, Morocco, Australia, Vietnam and Singapore.
Don has been married to his wife Alexandra since 1980 (they got married on the day the Mt. St. Helens volcano erupted!), and over the last 35 years they have taught hundreds of classes together, to many thousands of individuals and couples.
Don and Alex authored the couples communication program CoupleTalk, which has been used in churches and by couples at home in every US state, and in 20 other countries. They have also authored a Christian marriage prep program called Love for Life. Together they manage Relationship Research Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to creating and sponsoring relationship education workshops. They have three wonderful adult children, and one awesome grandchild.
